Pockets of Undoneness

100_1862My husband is wonderful! One thing that I love about him is that he enjoys cooking, especially that first meal of the day when I am  not fully awake. This morning he decided to make a wonderful egg, cheese, ham and vegetable casserole. He pulled it out of the oven and it looked and smelled wonderful. He cut into one side…perfect, but when he cut into the other side it was runny and something he said really stuck out to me. He decided that it was not quite ready because it had “pockets of undoneness” and then put it back in the oven to cook longer. I think sometimes we feel like we are getting overcooked in a situation and that God is leaving us in the oven to long, but maybe it is because we have pockets of undoneness and are not fully ready to serve.

James 1:2  “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
